No Bun This Week
It is quite common for our students to postpone their hair cuts until after our last performance for the year. As a bun is not needed for another 6 months, a shorter hair style is often seen at our end of year breakups.
Georgia Edwards, one of our Seniors, has just completed her 12th year with Studio Arc and is accustomed to a trim after the concert. This year her visit to the hairdresser was very special. And unexpected even to herself.
Georgia says:
I’ve lived all my life with hair that has reached my lower back and always gotten less than a centimetre cut off when getting a trim. My hair cut yesterday was planning on being just a trim once again, but after we got the news of breast cancer hitting my family, I decided that a trim wasn’t going to cut it (no pun intended).
Yesterday I got 30cm of my hair cut off and donated my ponytail to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Foundation to make real hair wigs for those women and children who have been personally affected by breast cancer. Knowing that all the hair I cut off is going to someone who needs it more than I do is really a feel good moment, and I would encourage everyone with long hair to think about making a hair donation, you won’t regret it I promise. 💖
We are not at all surprised by this act by Georgia as she has always shown herself to be extremely thoughtful of others.
This is such a worthwhile cause and we commend Georgia on her choice.
And the new hair style looks great !!!!
